Unexpected Blessings Brand & Campaign

Client

Opa’s Learning Academy

Founders Virginia and Scott Wells engaged us to develop organizational and campaign branding, as well as fundraising and marketing plans, for their emerging special-needs school. They had the passion and a strong concept, but needed guidance to develop an identity and voice for the school and their capital campaign.

Their Challenge
Opa’s Learning Academy
Our Solution

Following our five-step process of Discover, Develop, Design, Refine & Deploy, we took time to get to know the founders and learn as much as possible about their story and goals. We researched similar schools, both private and charter. We sought case studies and data aligned with the academic and life-skills opportunities planned for students living with disabilities who would attend Opa’s Learning Academy.

We developed a brand identity for the school that provided a starting point for introducing it to the community. We also created a capital campaign brand identity to reinforce the school’s WHY and reflect the founders’ commitment to educating “Unexpected Blessings.” Along with the identities, we developed business collateral, including business cards, note cards, letterhead, envelopes, and stickers.

Once we had mapped out a campaign plan and key messaging, we developed a 16-page Case for Support brochure that told the school’s story, explaining its educational model, benefits, and naming opportunities. We developed supporting materials, including a Fact Sheet, General Informational Flyer, pop-up sign, and T-shirts.

Our campaign and marketing plans included additional enhancement materials, such as an enews formula, template, and content, and a social media formula, calendar, and content. It also included a WordPress website, a digital invitation for information sessions, and a digital media kit. Our first media pitch resulted in a local news feature on television in record time.

Our work with Opa’s Learning Academy continues, and we remain heavily involved in both the capital campaign and the school’s impending launch, allowing us to shift from a specific brand-building and planning approach to a broader focus on funding, advocacy, and implementation.

Like Opa’s Learning Academy, we agree that every child with a disability deserves a specialized learning environment that meets their individual needs and goals, while also providing a safe and friendly place to BELIEVE. BELONG. BECOME.

Working with K. Hope Creative has truly been a blessing to me. Kim has taken my dream of creating an inclusive children’s school and turned it into a beautiful, professional brand identity to present to the community. With Kim, Catie Beth and Nick’s creative, professional approach to my vision I’m confident Opa’s Learning Academy will be a success. I look forward to continuing my relationship with the K.
