The Center Theater

Hartsville, South Carolina’s historic Center Theater was undergoing renovations in preparation for a grand re-opening of the 90-year-old venue’s live entertainment offerings. They asked K. Hope Creative to help kick their efforts into higher gear with a brand refresh, social media, email marketing, and the creation of fundraising and marketing materials, a website, and promotional items for awareness events.
Enamored with the theater’s history and its importance to the local community, we were excited to provide a brand refresh that emphasized the ambience and typography on the theater’s extremely prominent grand marquee. We were able to tie together the past and present using typography as our unifying centerpiece, along with a less complex icon and expanded color palette.
We created brand assets, including letterhead and business cards and used the refreshed brand to enhance social media and launch a monthly email newsletter designed to excite and inform the community about the theater’s upcoming re-emergence.
To support the theater’s need to seek investments to complete renovations and construct new dressing rooms, we developed a 36–26 COMEBACK Campaign concept, commemorating the 1936 grand opening and 2026 grand re-opening. In addition to a campaign identity, we created a 16-page case for support brochure, letterhead, notecard, naming opportunity document, donor commitment form, and a website landing page promoting the campaign.
During the brand refresh and campaign development period, we also provided creative services – vision, design, content, and event planning – for a fundraising event “Shagging with The Embers” to draw locals inside the theater, minus its seating which was scheduled to be replaced, and turned the main auditorium floor into a shag-dancing hot-spot. We designed posters, digital invitations, sponsor guides, tickets, signage, T-shirts, and news releases.
We look forward to celebrating The Center Theater’s epic return and its leadership of a new culture of Alive After Five entertainment.

K. Hope Creative has done a masterful job keeping our efforts and progress known to the public. Their work and input were instrumental in moving the renovation forward in a very positive way.
