Butler Academy preparing to open its doors to K-4th grade students in July 2020

Hartsville, SC – There is a transformational educational opportunity under construction in Hartsville that is poised to provide more than just academic excellence. Butler Academy, or BA, is a new K–12 charter school dedicated to meeting and/or exceeding the social, emotional and academic needs of students in Darlington County and surrounding counties in the Pee Dee.

School president, Dr. Jerome Reyes, is positioning BA not just as a gateway to academic and career opportunities, but as a community cornerstone committed to creating a culture of “I Can. You Can. We Can”.

“This school belongs to the community,” Reyes said. “I’m on a mission to shift mindsets to bring freedom of choice to Darlington County so that receiving a high-quality education is no longer dependent on your household income or where you live in the city.”

Butler Academy hired K. Hope Creative as its agency of record last summer, and the boutique branding and marketing firm has worked hand-in-hand with school leadership to develop the brand identity.

“We’ve had a lot of experience working with schools, and we have an incredible amount of respect for Dr. Reyes,” said Kim Bowman, founder and CEO of K. Hope Creative. “Being on the ground floor of something as exciting as Butler Academy allows us to share their story in new and different ways. We’re convinced BA will be a gamechanger.”

Along with a new brand identity, K. Hope Creative designed and developed BA’s website, marketing materials, and promotional items. The firm is currently deploying a marketing plan designed to introduce a variety of countdown campaigns leading up to the grand opening.
