Camp Cole
After two successful years in a Shine On Capital Campaign, the founders of Camp Cole wanted to celebrate a milestone fundraising achievement that positioned them for a much-anticipated groundbreaking on their world-class facility designed to serve children and adults with cancer and other health challenges. They wanted to host a celebratory event that would showcase the gratitude they felt toward their generous supporters and excitement they had for the future. The event’s theme was “Be the Light.”
Having developed the branding for Camp Cole, it was easy for K. Hope Creative to jump right in and take the reins on event development and execution. Plans turned into a timeline and conversations resulted in rich content, including the phrase, “When you can be anything, be the light.”
In addition to a save-the-date card and colorful invitation suite, we designed matchboxes and glowing LED buttons to complement symbolic donor takeaways—old-fashioned red lanterns adorned with ID tags with thank-you inscriptions and small notecards reinforcing the gift’s significance. Themed cocktail napkins, glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and bandana linens reinforced the outdoor “upscale camp” theme, along with mason jars, votives, and whiskey barrels.
As the details for the event fell into place, we rolled up our sleeves to create 25 large and 40 small flower arrangements with the help of volunteers. We designed multiple tablescapes and coordinated food, rentals, and lighting. Finally, we wrote the script that Camp Cole’s founders and campaign chairman used to announce their milestone victory, thank their donors, and kick off what was an exceptionally starlit night.
Our Work
Working with Kim Bowman has been nothing short of incredible. I feel so fortunate that Camp Cole was introduced to Kim when we began our work. Kim’s knowledge, attention to detail, creativity, and expertise has helped shape Camp Cole into the nonprofit we are today. This past December, she helped Camp Cole put on our first huge event, Be The Light, and it could not have been more of a success. Kim is the best in the game and it’s truly an honor to get to work with her. She makes a difference in every project she touches.
